Fostering collaboration among students

The lack of cohesion and community between different disciplines and the support staff (janitors, security, faculty, administration, etc.) at The University of the Arts meant that we didn’t have a strong sense of trust and familiarity with each other to feel secure. We began describing it as a “broken family.” My team and I created “collabU,” a tool for encouraging project collaboration across disciplines. It provides a symbiotic way to share skills: communicating what you need but also what you can give in return. We believe that these interactions can not only make projects “richer,” but also bring together people from different disciplines to work together and “mend” our broken family.
